Ode to the Embrace

Ode to the Embrace is a multi-media, multi-disciplinary design and art project, that began in 2020.
"At the end of 2020, I got a design assignment from a course at university called FormX. I had to design a lamp and matching chair. I had to put extra thought into the shape of the objects. I decided to design something that I personally really needed at that point.
As we all have felt during the last few years, physical connection cannot be taken for granted. Simply embracing your loved ones can suddenly change into a fuzzy memory. Unable to actually share my love like I used to, I thought of ways to show warmth.
I wanted to play with round shapes and light in both of the objects."

In order to show the prototypes, a miniature room was created.
Pictures and videos were made in this miniature room for the final video below.
The export quality is low, but it does show the vision for this project.
